Lauren Johnson, Licensed Professional Counselor & Supervisor

Over 11 years experience working in the Saline County Area

As a human trying to survive and thrive in this hardened world, I understand how real the struggle is. My career is helping others maneuver through life, but being a motivator and support system for people is my passion as well. My counseling experience ranges from early childhood, through late adulthood and my certifications focus mainly on trauma and PTSD. My undergrad is teaching, so my counseling sessions can really focus on instructing others, through evidence based practices, on how to control their moods & anxieties. My office is a safe space for others to communicate, feel and process their fears & situations, as well as improving overall self awareness, happiness levels, relationships, confidence & communication skills.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in helping clients reach their goals. With this in mind, I create a relaxed non-judgmental environment for clients to express feelings and work through challenges. As your therapist, I’ll work collaboratively with you to explore issues impacting your mood, happiness, and relationships; empowering you to determine your best path forward. I am open, empathic, and genuine. I am supportive and encouraging but will also keep it real with you! I have over 6 years of experience in the areas of trauma, loss, adjustment, anxiety, and depression. I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices tailored to clients’ needs and personality to foster healing and growth in their lives.

Going through life with a supportive community is needed. I enjoy the journey in being alongside individuals as we navigate life stressors. My passion is to love others where they are at. As your counselor, we will strive towards rebuilding hope and creating change. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master's of Science in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. While pursuing my secondary education, I served in leadership positions,  advising college students, encouraging and motivating them as they pursue their secondary education. I have experience in working in the public school setting as well, mentoring students and assisting educators with social/emotional needs of students.  I have been practicing as a counselor for 6 years, helping in areas of anxiety, depression, trauma and college/career goals. My certifications include TF-CBT and CPT.

Cristal Ellis, LAC

Licensed Associate Counselor

I am a recent graduate from Henderson State University. I offer a safe, relaxed, and nonjudgmental environment for all clients. My focus is ensuring that clients have a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship, as that will be the foundation for working toward client goals and needs. My goal is to work with clients to navigate difficult emotions or process emotions by working together and offering support throughout their sessions. I use person centered therapy approaches along with CBT. In our first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
