Lauren Johnson, LPC-S

Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor

As a human trying to survive and thrive in this hardened world, I understand how real the struggle is. My career is helping others maneuver through life, but being a motivator and support system for people is my passion as well. My counseling experience ranges from early childhood, through late adulthood and my certifications focus mainly on trauma and PTSD. My undergrad is teaching, so my counseling sessions can really focus on instructing others, through evidence based practices, on how to control their moods and anxieties. My office is a safe space for others to communicate; feel and process their fears and situations; improve overall self awareness, happiness levels, relationships, confidence and communication skills.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in helping clients reach their goals. With this in mind, I create a relaxed non-judgmental environment for clients to express feelings and work through challenges. As your therapist, I’ll work collaboratively with you to explore issues impacting your mood, happiness, and relationships; empowering you to determine your best path forward.

I am open, empathic, and genuine. I am supportive and encouraging but will also keep it real with you! I have over 6 years of experience in the areas of trauma, loss, adjustment, anxiety, and depression. I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices tailored to clients’ needs and personality to foster healing and growth in their lives.

I believe meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely seen, heard, and understood. I strive to create a space that feels both professional and approachable, where you can show up as your full self without fear of judgment, recognizing that therapy is most effective when it feels like a real relationship built on trust. I understand how consuming mental health symptoms can be and how difficult it can feel to navigate life when the world already feels overwhelming. Together, we can build insight, resilience, and practical tools that support meaningful progress.

My background includes working in residential treatment, school-based mental health, and medical settings giving me experience supporting individuals across a variety of challenges and life experiences. I am most passionate about working with those who have experienced trauma, navigated complicated family dynamics, identify as neurodivergent, live with chronic illness, or are coping with grief and loss. My work is informed by EMDR, ERP, SE, and ACT. I tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs, helping clients develop insight, resilience, and practical tools for meaningful growth. Whether you're seeking healing, greater self-understanding, or a new path forward, I would be honored to support you on your journey.
